The Camel Trail

If you like cycling, walking, or horse riding you will love the Camel Trail. It runs from Padstow to Wadebridge then on  to Boscarne following the River Camel. If you wish to hire a bike there is a wide variety to choose from at the hire shop situated at the start of the Camel trail by Padstow harbour. Traffic free with beautiful views it is a popular choice any time of the year.

May Day

The most important day of the year for the local Padstow folk is the “Obby Oss” festival. It takes place on the 1st May each year (or the 2nd May if the 1st is on a Sunday). The tradition goes back hundred of years and is well worth coming to see.

It starts early in the morning with local children dancing around the flower covered Maypole, the processions and carnival atmosphere goes on all day and well into the night.  With flowers and banners everywhere, and the people of Padstow all dressed in their traditional white with the red or blue sashes it is a very colourful spectacle and one not to be missed.
